I don't know precisely how it began. I think it was Star Wars that first got me interested in science fiction, but that interest was solidified by Star Trek: The Next Generation. I think I still have about equal affection for both, though both affect me in very different ways.
I also write science fiction, including a collection of connected stories I am currently calling the "Alliance Series."
One reason I'm so interested in science fiction is because of my interest in science. I have studied physics, astronomy, chemistry, and biology...and strangely enough, I enjoy it. I hate the math, but I find the concepts and theories quite interesting. Lately I've been redirecting my scientific learning toward computer science, which is in turn working into the science fiction that I write.
